Client Brief

Bakersgate Developments were asked to assist with the redesign and cost reviews of this challenging project which is located on the seafront at Bracklesham Bay; the architecture along the seafront reflected many varied styles accommodating a number of private Client’s tastes, including one Huf House which is adjacent to the site.

The Client, a successful business man, wanted a building which was bespoke to his specific holiday and entertaining requirements and includes a hot tub, gymnasium, home cinema, “intelligent” control systems, pizza oven, landscaped gardens, bespoke joinery and speed boat store with his specific feature of pre patinated copper cladding.

Of particular challenge were the beach side requirements for all designs to be resilient to the sea salt environment specific to this location.

Bakersgate Developments were recommended to our Client from a previous project. He needed a one stop shop to control the designer’s costs, working to a tight programme and tight site constraints. Our experience in Construction Management gave him the flexibility to work with the Client’s busy timescale and changing needs with minimal additional costs.

Project Summary:

BDL co-ordinated the works from Planning Stage, design works, and all site activities through to hand over and Client occupation.

The almost full glazing to the beach elevation gives almost permanent views over the sea, including from the master bedroom and even the bath!
